The team at The Hive is proud to bring their knowledge, experience, and passion for student learning into the hybrid school environment. With over 20 years of combined experience in education and working with students in traditional school settings, Nicole and Erika are excited to support families in this new, innovative approach to learning.


Co Founder
Erika Julian
Erika holds a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education, as well as a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education. With 10 years of experience as an elementary school teacher, Erika has developed a deep understanding of child development and a passion for fostering young learners' growth. As a mom of two, Erika is dedicated to creating a nurturing, personalized learning environment. She is now looking to teach through a hybrid model, combining her expertise with a desire to offer a more flexible, individualized educational experience for students.

Co Founder
Nicole Villa
Nicole is a dedicated wife and mother of three, who lives in Nampa. Her passion for creativity shines through in both her personal and professional life, and she enjoys spending quality time with her family. Nicole holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's in Counseling and Guidance. With over seven years of experience in education, she has made a meaningful impact as a Therapeutic Behavioral Specialist, combining her expertise in psychology with her deep commitment to helping students. Nicole has worked in the Nampa School District for three years and is now a co founder of The Hive.

Middle School Teacher
Tarah Norland
Mrs. Tarah Norland holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (2019) and a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Grand Canyon University (2021). This year marks her eighth year teaching, with three years of experience in 4th grade and five years in 5th grade. She is passionate about creating an engaging, supportive learning environment where students feel encouraged to grow academically and personally. We are so excited to welcome her as our Middle School teacher at The Hive.

3rd-5th Grade Teacher
Ashlie Monroe
Ashlie brings 8 years of teaching experience and a strong passion for early literacy into the classroom. She graduated from Boise State University in 2017 with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and an endorsement in literacy. In addition to teaching, she is a self-published children’s book author, combining her love for storytelling with her dedication to helping young learners grow. As a mom of two, Ashlie values connection, creativity, and meeting each child where they are.

Teachers Aid
Lily Ettler
Lily works at The Hive Collective as a teacher’s aid. Mrs. Lily has called Idaho home for nearly five years, and loves it.Homeschooling is especially close to my heart—I was homeschooled growing up and even met my husband through a homeschool co-op! I’ve always had a passion for working with children, from nannying to teaching Sunday School, I enjoy helping them learn and grow.Art and creativity are big parts of my life, and I enjoy bringing them into the learning process. I can’t wait to meet you and your students! I am looking forward to a wonderful year ahead!
